Trupanion Pet & Public Health Early Warning & Detection System

Protecting pets and families with real-time veterinary data

Proactively addressing emerging health threats is imperative to safeguarding pets, their families, and our global community. Today, we have mechanisms in place to rapidly identify illness and disease impacting humans and even production animals. However, there is a noticeable gap in the tools needed to identify those diseases that affect companion animals.

To help address this issue, Trupanion is proud to launch a collaborative advisory board partnering with leading health authorities, academia, diagnostic laboratories, and the veterinary and pharmaceutical industries to proactively detect potential threats to pet and public health, including:

  • U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, One Health Office
  • Boehringer Ingelheim
  • Mars Science & Diagnostics
  • Morris Animal Foundation
  • American Veterinary Medical Association
  • International University Systems
  • The Private Sector
Together, we aim to:
Educate the Public
Raise awareness about new and evolving diseases to help pet owners make informed decisions about their pet's health.
Help Reduce Fear and Panic
Equip veterinarians with up-to-date insights to alleviate concerns and provide clarity in times of uncertainty.
Prepare Communities
Proactively prepare communities to respond effectively to potential outbreaks and the risk of zoonotic diseases.
Serve as a Trusted Resource Hub
Share resources and expert guidance created by leading pet and public health authorities.

Meet the Committee

The Pet & Public Health Early Warning and Detection System will unite a diverse spectrum of expertise, from seasoned epidemiologists and skilled data scientists to dedicated veterinarians and government agencies. Together, we are fostering a collaborative ecosystem centered on early detection, swift response, and informed decision-making.
